In order to live our lives fully we must ‘take our place’ in creation – participate fully with ourselves, with others, with nature and with our own spirituality. Instead, we often avoid our real feelings and our truth, which sacrifices our wholeness and causes emotional pain. Our experience is that addictions are how we numb ourselves from this pain.
